A little about me...
Hello and welcome to my web page. I want to let you know how excited I am to be returning to Atha Road Elementary this year. I will be teaching two advanced content guided reading classes, as well as serving as the Walton County Gifted Testing Evaluator. As a graduate of The University of Georgia (GO DAWGS!!!), I began my teaching career in 1993 with a degree in Middle School Education, teaching 7th & 8th grades at Loganville Middle School. After staying at home for six years with my children, I added a degree in Elementary Childhood Education and taught 4th & 5th grades at Atha Road Elementary and Sharon Elementary in Walton County. I have a Master's Degree in Elementary Reading and Mathematics and am certified in Gifted Education. I am certified to teach all academic areas in Middle school and taught at Youth Middle School for five years. I first moved to Walton County after I married my husband, Kelly, of 21 years. I have two children, Sierra (18), and Hunter (16), who are my world! Sierra is a freshman at The University of Georgia and Hunter is a junior at Walnut Grove High School. I enjoy teaching tremendously, but when I am not teaching, I love spending time with my family in the outdoors. Hiking, running, baseball, gardening, and playing with my dogs are among my favorite activities. I look forward to learning more about each of my students this year, challenging you to the next level,, and encouraging you to... NEVER SETTLE FOR LESS THAN YOUR BEST!!!!
